Workshops

IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING OUR WORKSHOPS:-

Workshops are run at my home based studio in Royal Wootton Bassett. Spaces are only reserved once full payment has been received. Please email [email protected], text or call Rachel 07828 552610 to reserve your space and arrange payment. payments are not refundable, although with at least 48 hours notice payment can be utilised toward another workshop.Facilities - Sadly we do not currently have any wheelchair access to the premises and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.We offer free tea and coffee during your workshop.We have toilet facilities here!

Cost £25 which includes materials. 

In this workshop you will learn how to make an adjustable unisex bracelet.  Techniques include how to make an adjustable/sliding knot with macrame and whipping knots.  Choose from a selection of threads, gemstones, wooden beads, lava beads and tibetan focal beads.  

I will take you through each step during the workshop. 

Dates: Tuesday 12th November 10-12pm. 

Skill level: For complete beginners or existing beaders looking to explore a new jewellery medium.

Make a  glass beaded and Wire coiled bracelet using the coiling gizmo.

Cost £20 which includes materials

Date: Wed 13th November 12-2pm. 

Projects: Create a beaded wirework bracelet using the coiling gizmo, which is a tool that is clamped to the table and allows you to make neat coils, using various sized mandrels. Its a clever device and you will produce a bracelet during the session. 

Tools & use of coiling gizmo providing  during the workshop 

Skill level: This is a good course for regular beaders and also suitable for beginners. 

Cost £40 which includes materials. 

The workshop is spread over 2 sessions (the cost includes both) to allow time for the resin to set and dry.  In the 2nd session you will attach cord, leather or chain to some of your pendants. 

Dates: Thurs 14th Nov 10-11am & 2nd part to collect/make necklace arranged to suit. 

Projects: I will take you through all the steps to make your own resin pendants (approx 12 pendants), from mixing the appropriate resin and hardener and how to create your own unique pieces by adding colour pigments and embellishments, pressed flowers or gold leaf. 

As the resin takes around 24 hours to set, the second session will be adding the pendants to cord/faux suede/leather. 

Tools provided for use during the session. 

Skill level: For complete beginners or existing beaders looking to explore a new jewellery medium. 

Make  Beadwork earrings with sterling silver findings. 

Cost £20 which includes materials

Date: Wed 20th Nov 10am - 12pm

Projects: Create these beautiful earrings using a technique called bead weaving.  This is a type of jewellery making using needle and specialist beaders thread.  The beads used are small seed beads and twin hole beads. 

All relevant tools and equipment provided for use during the workshop.  There will also be a selection of colour choices.  

Skill level: This course is suitable for beginners. 

Make a Macrame tree using the square knot technique with or without beads. 

Cost £15 which includes materials

Date: Thurs 21st Nov 12.30-2pm. 

Projects: Create a macrame tree using paracord.

Skill level: This is a good course for regular beaders and also suitable for beginners. 

Make Mini Macrame dragonflies using the square knot technique.

Cost £15 which includes materials

Date: Wed 27th Nov 10-11.30am

Projects: Create a macrame dragonfly using satin cord. 

Tools provided for use during the workshop 

Skill level: This is a good course for regular beaders and also suitable for beginners. 

Make a selection of bookmarks, ideal for christmas gift ideas.  

Cost £10 which includes materials

Date: Thurs 5th Dec 10-11.15am

Projects: Create a selection of book marks using wire looping techniques and attaching jump rings.

Skill level: This is a good course for regular beaders and also suitable for beginners.

Cost £45 which includes a kit with all materials required

Date: workshop spread over 2 sessions:-

Wed 4th Dec 10am-12pm & Wed 11th Dec 10am-12pm. 

Projects: Suitable for total beginners. Create a bee brooch using bead weaving techniques and bead embroidery techniques, using a specialist needle and thread.  I will take you through each stage of the process  which begins by handstitching around a printed picture on a beading foundation. 

Skill level: Suitable for total beginners and experienced beaders. 

Cost £45 which includes a kit with all materials required

Date: workshop spread over 2 sessions:-

Wed 8th Jan 2020 from 10am-12pm &

Wed 15th Jan 2020 from 10am-12pm
