Workshops

IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING OUR WORKSHOPS:-

Workshops are run at my home based studio in Royal Wootton Bassett. Spaces are only reserved once full payment has been received. Please email [email protected], text or call Rachel 07828 552610 to reserve your space and arrange payment. payments are not refundable, although with at least 48 hours notice payment can be utilised toward another workshop.Facilities - Sadly we do not currently have any wheelchair access to the premises and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.We offer free tea and coffee during your workshop.We have toilet facilities here!

Cost £50 which includes your kit and workshop sessions spread over 3 weeks. 

Dates

Thurs 27th Feb 10-11.30am, Thurs 5th March 10-11.30am & Thurs 12th March 10-11.30am 

Projects: Suitable for total beginners, although it is recommended that you have worked with needle and thread before. 

Over the 3 weeks you will learn how to do a ladder stitch and brich stitch to make each petal. 

Create 6 separate petals over the course and learn you to weave all the petals together, adding a pin at the back. 

Light refreshments and biscuits provided. 

Cost £25 which includes materials. 

In this workshop you will learn how to make an adjustable unisex bracelet.  Techniques include how to make a gemstone bracelet using square knot macrame. Choose from a selection of threads, gemstones and glass beads. 

I will take you through each step during the workshop. 

Dates: Tuesday 25th February 10-12pm. 

Skill level: For complete beginners or existing beaders looking to explore a new jewellery medium.

Cost £25 which includes materials. 

In this workshop you will make 2 unisex bracelets with stylish bracelet clasps.  A choice of gemstone bead colours combined with leather cord. 

I will take you through each step during the workshop including making the decorative whipping knots and adding the clasp. 

Dates: Tues 3rd March 10-12pm 

Skill level: For complete beginners or existing beaders looking to explore a new jewellery medium.

Cost £40 which includes your materials and workshop. 

Date Wednesday 10th March 10am til 2pm

Projects: Suitable for total beginners, although it is recommended that you have worked with needle and thread before. Choice of colours provided. 

I will teach you to make a beadwork flower using brick stitch techniques and a cute bee using ladder stitch.  You will learn all the skills, although it is likely that you will need to complete more of the work at home after the workshop, due to time constraints.  You will however have all the materials provided to complete your project.  

You may wish to keep your brooch simple with a single flower or bee, or you may wish to may it a little more bold like the one shown in the photograph.

 Make a beaded necklace with a clasp fastening, dangle earrings using nickle free components and a stretch bracelet. 

Cost £25 which includes materials

A selection of beads are available from glass, wooden, pearl and gemstone. 

 Date: Thursday 19th March 10am til 12pm. 

Projects:Create a beaded necklace using tigertail thread and crimp beads. Learn how to use the bead board for design and measurement.  Learn wire looping techniques to make dangle earrings and finally a stretch beaded bracelet. 

Tools provided for use during the workshop.

Skill level: This course is for beginners or existing beaders looking for a refresher.

Cost £45 which includes a kit with all materials required

Date: Thursday 26th March 10am til 2.30pm

Projects: Suitable for total beginners. Create a Peacock brooch using bead weaving techniques and bead embroidery techniques, using a specialist needle and thread with seed beads and freshwater pearls.  I will take you through each stage of the process  which begins by handstitching around a printed picture on a beading foundation. 

Skill level: Suitable for total beginners and experienced beaders. 

Light refreshments included (tea, coffee, squash, biscuits). 

Date: Tuesday 7th April 10am til 3.30pm

Projects: Suitable for total beginners. Create a Dragonfly brooch using bead weaving techniques and bead embroidery techniques, using a specialist needle and thread.  I will take you through each stage of the process  which begins by handstitching around a printed picture on a beading foundation. 

Skill level: Suitable for total beginners and experienced beaders.
